Phase Change Materials in Refrigeration
This paper follows a natural chronology of Efficiency Vermont’s research in the field of phase change materials (PCM) – which store latent heat by virtue of their chemical makeup. This paper presents definitions and scoping of PCMs; discusses a small-scale Vermont prototype that was designed, tested, and discussed; and dives into an identified future opportunity and breaks down the potential for PCMs in Vermont.
