Who we are

Efficiency Vermont is an organization that provides rebates and advice about saving energy. We assist renters, homeowners, property owners, and businesses in lowering energy bills. For those with limited incomes, we offer a range of free services.

Understanding energy costs

Companies that provide essential services to your home (such as water, electricity or fuel) are called “Utilities”, and they will provide you with a bill that tells you how much you have used and how money you owe for these services. Examples of utilities include electricity, water, and gas. An electric utility delivers electricity to your home. Other essential services deliver water or fuel (commonly natural gas, fuel oil, and propane) for heating your home. If you rent, some or all these bills may be included in your rent.

Your electric and heating costs can vary widely depending on how much energy your household uses. Efficiency Vermont can help you save money on these bills by helping you replace inefficient appliances, lighting, heating, and electronic devices. If your energy bills are included in your rent, we can work with the property owner. Services are also available if you are looking for support with an unpaid bill.
