Greensboro Contractors Win Award for Energy Saving Home Renovation

Greensboro, VT

Greensboro-based Vermont Energy Audits has received a “Best of the Best” award for energy efficient renovation from Efficiency Vermont. The contractors earned top honors for converting a drafty, late-20th-century house into a comfortable home that now uses significantly less heating fuel. Vermont Energy Audits did extensive air sealing and insulation work in the 5,000+ square-foot home’s attic and basement that is expected to lower heating costs by more than $3,000 per year.

Vermont Energy Audits was one of 13 award recipients recognized on February 3rd at Efficiency Vermont’s annual Better Buildings by Design conference in Burlington. This is the Northeast’s premier design and construction conference, focusing on building efficiency, durability, and value. More than 1,000 leading building design professionals and construction tradespeople attended.

Given annually, the Best of the Best awards recognize high achievement by architects, engineers, builders, and contractors using energy efficiency and sustainability practices to construct or renovate Vermont buildings. Awards are given for commercial and residential new construction, commercial major rehabilitation projects, renovations completed by Building Performance contractors and home improvements completed by Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® contractors.
