Low-Income Fuel Switch Program Terms & Conditions

The Low-Income Fuel Switch Program provides a ductless heat pump for eligible households at no cost. The program also includes one free service visit about one year after installation.

Program Eligibility:

By signing below, I confirm that the information I have provided about my eligibility is true and accurate, including that:

  • I meet the requirements for income eligibility.
  • I am the legal owner of the property, and it is my primary residence.
  • My home has been weatherized through the Weatherization Assistance Program or the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® program in the last 15 years.
  • My home is primarily heated with fossil fuel (propane, oil, kerosene, or natural gas), and that heating system currently functions.

A copy of these Terms and Conditions will be emailed to you upon submission of this form.

Program Terms & Conditions:

By submitting this form, I understand and agree to the following Terms and Conditions for participating in this program:

  • Efficiency Vermont will share my information with an approved contractor. That contractor will contact me to schedule and complete the installation. I understand that I cannot choose or hire a different contractor for this program.
  • Efficiency Vermont will cover the cost of equipment, installation, and one service visit approximately one year following the installation date. The program does not cover any extra work or changes that go beyond what the program includes.
  • The program includes the heat pump and any required electric work needed to install it, as determined by the contractor, as well as one free service visit about one year after installation.
  • I am responsible for any maintenance, service, and repair of the installed equipment and for pursuing customer’s rights under any manufacturer or installer warranty.
  • I will follow all applicable federal and state laws and regulations related to this program. I am also responsible for checking whether this program affects my insurance or mortgage.
  • I will provide any additional information or documentation if needed to verify my eligibility.
  • Efficiency Vermont makes no guarantees regarding net energy bill reductions as a result of participation in this program. Efficiency Vermont also does not warrant the performance of equipment installed as part of the program. Efficiency Vermont disclaims any and all warranties, whether expressed or implied, associated with the program, including, without limitation, the equipment or its installation. Any warranties are the responsibility of the installation contractors and/or equipment suppliers and manufacturers, and not the responsibility of Efficiency Vermont.

By signing below, I confirm that the information I provided is true and correct to the best of my knowledge. I understand that Efficiency Vermont may check my self-reported income, and I agree to provide documentation if asked. I understand that providing false or incorrect information may make me ineligible for the program, delay or stop installation, and/or require me to repay program costs.

Participation in this program is voluntary and may include the installation of a heat pump and any required electric upgrades as determined by the contractor. Efficiency Vermont or its designee may conduct field inspections.
