Building Science & Net Zero Design Certificate
October 12 - November 14, 2026
6:00pm-9:00pm
The Building Science and Net Zero Design Certificate equips students with the core principles of how buildings work, how heat, air, moisture, and materials interact, and shows how to turn that knowledge into high-performance, low-energy design solutions. Guided by expert instructors through lectures, case studies, demonstrations, and design exercises, students learn both the theory and how to apply it.
Over the course of the program, participants will design their own net-zero energy home, producing floor plans, elevations, mechanical system layouts, and detailed wall assembly drawings. Along the way, they’ll gain the skills to evaluate building enclosures, select high-performance systems, and integrate renewable energy strategies.
Whether you’re a designer, builder, project manager, property owner, or policy professional, this certificate provides knowledge that’s increasingly essential in today’s building industry. By the end of the program, you’ll leave with a basic design concept for your own project and the applied knowledge to make net-zero energy buildings a reality.
