2023 EEC Rates
Cost-effective energy efficiency
Efficiency Vermont is committed to helping all customers benefit from the energy transformation, advancing clean energy solutions that help you save money while cost-effectively reducing greenhouse gas emissions and making Vermont more resilient to the effects of climate change. The Energy Efficiency Charge (EEC) that appears on your electric bill each month helps us do that—enabling us to reduce the cost of efficient technologies, provide expert advice, build our clean energy workforce, help businesses reduce operating costs, and support cleaner, more efficient transportation options.
This year, Efficiency Vermont will continue to maintain a flat budget, while reducing EEC rates by 0.5% percent for residential customers, 4.9% for commercial customers, and 3.8% for industrial customers. These new rates will help keep electric bills more affordable while allowing Efficiency Vermont to continue delivering programs and services that help all Vermonters save money and reduce carbon emissions.
Investments Vermonters have made in energy efficiency since 2000 have helped Vermont rank among the top 3 states for energy efficiency efforts, and are expected to reduce more than 13 million metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions over the life of those investments. That’s like taking all of Vermont’s cars off the road for 5 years.
