Q & A's

Q: If I have an existing Incentive Agreement with Efficiency Vermont for my project, can I still apply?
A: Yes, if the project is not yet completed.

Q: What types of projects are eligible?
A: Any project that increases electrical efficiency. Projects that only save thermal fuels (e.g., oil, natural gas, propane, wood) are not eligible.

Q: Will incentives ever be less than 90% of project costs is the total incentive is less than $40k?
A: Most approved projects will cover 90% of project costs, up to $40,000. We may reduce the incentive amount if there are other sources of funding, such as grants or loans.

Q: When can I expect to hear whether my project has been approved or not?
A: We will let customers know if their incentive is approved within 10 business days of receiving a full application.

Q: Does the entire project need to be completed by the end of the year?
A: The intention of this program is to support projects that will complete in 2021. However, if a selected project is not able to be completed in 2021 we will still provide financial support.

Q: Can schools submit a project?
A: Yes, schools can submit a project, but if their project is eligible for the Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) grant they should submit their project via that program. IAQ projects for schools will not be accepted into the RDC initiative.
