Financing for Home Performance with ENERGY STAR

Efficiency Vermont is partnering with lending institutions to offer discounted loans for qualifying home improvements. This reduced interest rate financing is only available for home improvements or remodeling completed or supervised by an certified Home Performance with ENERGY STAR^® contractor. If you're a Vermonter and you own your home, you may be eligible for one of these loans.*

Key features of Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Financing

Efficiency Vermont will reduce the interest rate for qualifying home improvements up to 3.5%. For example, if the interest rate for a qualifying home improvement loan is 8.5%, Efficiency Vermont will pre-pay the interest up to 3.5% leaving your interest rate at 5%. Residential homes with four units or less are eligible.You can finance 100% of installation costs for qualifying home improvements.

Consult with a certified Home Performance with ENERGY STAR contractor to assess your home and determine the scope of work.
Contact a participating institution for a Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Financing application.
Complete and submit the application to the lender.
After the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR application has been received, your lending institution will typically notify you within five business days regarding the status of your application. If approved, you will be informed of the financing terms including the reduced interest rate provided by Efficiency Vermont.
Contact your certified Home Performance with ENERGY STAR contractor to let them know you are approved and to schedule your home improvements.
