The Grand Prize winner of the Northfield Home Energy Makeover will be determined by the results of from the home energy audits performed at the homes of the 3 first prize winners.

The contest entry period ended October 15, 2008 at 5:00pm.
Efficiency Vermont received more than 160 entries for the Northfield Home Energy Makeover Contest, the first of its kind in Vermont.
All entrants will receive:
A coupon for one free compact fluorescent light bulb (CFL).
Each of two First Prize winners will receive:
A free evaluation (a $500 value) of the efficiency of your heating systems, lighting, appliances, windows, building tightness and insulation effectiveness;
Up to $2,000 dollars toward energy efficiency improvements to your home;
Professional advice on ways to improve the comfort and durability of your home as well as solve problems and lower your energy bills, and assistance in prioritizing energy saving home improvements.
The Grand Prize winner will receive:
A free evaluation (a $500 value) of the efficiency of your heating systems, lighting, appliances, windows, building tightness and insulation effectiveness;
Up to $10,000 worth of improvements to your home by an expert Home Performance with ENERGY STAR contractor.

Following the October 15, 2008 application deadline, the First Prize winners will be selected through an application screening process that will identify those homes that use the most energy and could benefit the most from the implementation of the package of energy efficiency upgrades. Selection of First Prize Winners will be based on discretion of Efficiency Vermont and the selection panel; selection of the Grand Prize Winner will be based on the in-home evaluations and at the discretion of Efficiency Vermont.
