Energizer, a global leader in battery technology, partnered with Efficiency Vermont on a facility audit to identify energy-saving opportunities. Projects in recent years have included detecting and correcting compressed air leaks, upgrading compressed air dryers, installing a second, more efficient (all-electric) injection molding machine, and upgrading all manufacturing area lighting. Measures completed in 2008 and 2009 will reduce costs by an estimated $87,000 per year.

FiberMark was recognized as a “Business Leader for Energy Efficiency” at the Northeast Energy Efficiency Summit in Boston, MA on March 31, 2010. Nominated by Efficiency Vermont, the company was honored for its continued efforts to advance energy efficiency which have resulted in annual energy savings of over 1,835,846 kWh, and cost savings of over $142,000. Over the past several years, FiberMark, in partnership with Efficiency Vermont, has looked at its facility-wide energy consumption with an eye on improving efficiency and production while decreasing its electricity usage and dependence on fossil fuels.
