Energy Leadership Challenge

About the Energy Leadership Challenge

At Efficiency Vermont, we’ve been inspired by the many successes that Vermont’s businesses and institutions have had with energy and cost savings. Over the next two years, we’re challenging businesses—and ourselves—to do even better.

Energy Leadership Challenge We’ve invited the largest businesses and institutions* in Vermont to take the Energy Leadership Challenge. As of November 1, 2011, more than 60 businesses have joined. As Challenge participants, these businesses are taking action to achieve 7.5% energy savings at their facilities across the challenge’s two-year timeframe (July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2013). Efficiency Vermont has committed to helping each business create a comprehensive, long-term energy savings plan and is providing enhanced resources—both technical and financial—to help participants meet their goals. For more details, view the benefits. Burlington Electric Department (BED) has also offered the Challenge to large business customers within its territory.

We recognize that our shared energy future comes with many challenges—we hope that this challenge will create new opportunities for businesses to thrive in Vermont.

As the challenge progresses we’ll be posting progress updates on this website. Stayed tuned!
